Mile End Effects is a small pedal company based in Montreal, Quebec. Born out of my passion for playing in bands, collecting vintage and often neglected musical equipment and a childhood knack for tinkering with home electronics, Mile End Effects is the result of many years of a deep rooted desire to honour the spirit of exploration.

First and foremost, I am a musician who spends a large part of my life out in the world touring and in recording studios (currently with Montreal act, Yoo Doo Right). Initially, I started to build effects pedals solely for myself and my musical friends, chasing sounds in my head, recreating ones that I had known were already out there or simply modifying and repairing gear to suit me better. These experiences and knowledge of what musicians need and want is one of the core values that Mile End Effects is built upon.

It’s a funny feeling to recognize now that my own sonic tastes are shared by so many other musicians (and some who can safely be designated as my heroes). Many people have put their faith in this humble little company as I actively try to build a life for myself that I feel I don’t need to escape from. The support gifted to me has not only solidified this as worthy of my time, but has rewarded me with the understanding that pursuing a career at the fringes of what is considered to be financially viable is completely possible. From the day back in 2013 that I decided to take my clumsy first steps towards making a guitar pedal, through to now sending my creations to people all over the world, my long winded obsession in learning the ins and outs of audio electronics and creating excellent sounding effects has been the sole driver of my endeavours. It's scary, thrilling and it takes so much extra effort and care, but it is certainly my purpose in this world.

Every step of producing these pedals from the design process to circuit board population, assembly, screen printing and milling is done by hand with love in Montréal, Québec.
